Build a stronger foundation for your relationship and your growing family.
Everyone prepares you for the baby. But who prepares you for becoming parents together?
This six-week couples’ group is designed to help expectant parents intentionally strengthen their connection before baby arrives.
Grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy, we’ll explore the emotional bond between partners, communication and conflict patterns, expectations about parenthood, intimacy and connection, and how to stay emotionally connected during the postpartum transition.
This is not about becoming perfect parents or having everything figured out. It’s about building a stronger foundation for your relationship as you grow your family.
Why This Group?
Becoming a parent is an extraordinary transition, but it can also be hard on a relationship. Even strong, loving couples can find themselves feeling disconnected as they navigate sleep deprivation, changing roles, new responsibilities, shifting priorities, intimacy changes, and the question of how to do this whole parenting thing together.
I know how easy it is to assume you can simply push through the hard parts. I also know how difficult it can be to find support that focuses on the relationship, not just the practical problems or individual symptoms that come with this transition.
What We’ll Focus On
Emotional bonding
Interactive cycles between partners
How to maintain intimacy and connection

Led by Mandy Hodgson, AMFT
Mandy Hodgson, AMFT is a Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples navigating the transition to parenthood. With training in perinatal mental health and a deep passion for attachment-based work, she helps expectant and new parents protect and strengthen the relationship that will become the foundation of their growing family.
Becoming parents changes everything, including the relationship between partners. Even couples with strong, loving relationships can find themselves feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or overwhelmed as they navigate pregnancy, postpartum changes, shifting roles, intimacy, and the demands of caring for a new baby. Mandy's work focuses on helping couples understand the emotional patterns that create distance and build the security, responsiveness, and connection needed to navigate this transition together.
